Job board feeds

Updated

A job board wants one URL it can read on a schedule. Orbit gives each account one: an XML feed of every live role, in the shape boards already accept.

What it will be

  • One address per account. The feed URL is minted the first time an account’s distribution is read, so it exists before anyone copies it. It carries a token; the token is the credential, because a board cannot rotate request headers.
  • Every live role, nothing else. A role appears while it is published and drops out the minute it passes its end date, without waiting for anything to run.
  • A generic board schema. source, publisher, lastBuildDate, then one job per role with title, date, reference number, URL, company, location, description, salary, job type and expiry date. Boards that want a dialect of their own get a mapping over the same feed.
  • Where candidates land. Each entry links to the role’s page on Wipperoz, or to the hosted apply page when the role has no page of its own.

Where to find it

On a role in Orbit, the Settings tab lists where the role goes. The feed row shows the address with a copy button once it is live on your account.
