Changelog

Updated

Dated, newest first. Every change to the public API or to these docs is a line here.

2026-09-25

  • Publishing is free. POST /v1/jobs/{jobId}/publish charges nothing: creditsCharged is no longer in its response, and 402 insufficient_credits is gone. Publishing does not start candidate matching either — ranking applicants and matching the pool belong to a managed job ad, which a recruiter switches on in Orbit.
  • category. What kind of job a role is, from a fixed list. Accepted on POST /v1/jobs and PATCH /v1/jobs/{jobId}, returned on every job that has one, and required on a role’s first publish: without it, publish answers 422 with category in missing.
  • Managed ads keep their title and category. A PATCH that would change either on a managed ad, directly or through publishEdits, answers 409 with managed_ad_locked and a fields list, and changes nothing.
  • Screening over the API. POST /v1/jobs/{jobId}/candidates/{candidateId}/screening invites one of a role’s candidates to an AI screening with one of your templates. Only a managed ad can screen (409 ad_not_managed). Past the ad’s included screenings, a screening is an extra one at the template’s price, locked when it is sent and billed only if it completes, with no per-call confirmation. One that would take the account past its monthly limit answers 402 overage_cap_reached.
  • The screening scope. Shown in Orbit as Screening, it is what the screening route needs. Issuing a key with it is the account’s consent to extra screenings, up to the monthly limit.

  • Writing jobs. POST /v1/jobs creates a draft, POST /v1/jobs/{jobId}/publish takes it live and charges the publish fee, PATCH /v1/jobs/{jobId} edits, and POST /v1/jobs/{jobId}/close closes. Edits to a published role stage a revision unless you send publishEdits: true.
  • A new scope, jobs:write. Shown in Orbit as read and manage jobs. It is not implied by read jobs: publishing spends credits, so it is chosen deliberately when a key is created.
  • Idempotency-Key on the POST endpoints. A retry returns the first answer instead of a second advertisement or a second charge.
  • Base URLs. The development host is no longer listed here. It refuses external callers and was never usable from outside.

2026-09-06

  • Public Jobs API v1. GET /v1/jobs and GET /v1/jobs/{jobId}: an account’s published, closed and expired roles by API key, with cursor pagination, status and updatedSince filters, and an applyLink on every job.
  • API key scopes. Keys carry a scope chosen at creation — read jobs or screening — shown on every key in Orbit → Settings → API keys.
  • These docs. Getting started, the careers-site guide and the generated endpoint reference.
